Grace Trekking

We had problems with flights and arrived a day late. On the phone to DR, he assured us it was not a problem. Then and later, I found DR to be as stoic a person as I’ve ever observed, always calm.

I have utilised DR and his wonderful team on 3 occasions over the past 20 years. Twice to Everest BC and my last visit to Annapurna BC.

From the moment DR greets you at the airport, DR’s team tend to your every need. His logistics cater for very high standards at a very reasonable cost, including accommodation, trekking permits transportation and catering.

While on the mountain, DR’s team ensure that you are always the priority, whether on a trek or adventure, your safety is always paramount.

Admirably a proportion of his fee’s go towards running an orphanage, providing a loving home and education for many orphans over the years.

Having led over 20 expeditions with the British Royal Air Force, l have never come across a leader whose attention to detail is second to none.

I whole heartedly encourage any group to utilise DR’s outstanding team.

Our experience with Grace Trekking was truly fantastic; we walked the Annapurna Circuit in early October accompanied by DR and his team. There was nothing that was wanting, his knowledge and experience enabled us to have a memorable expedition. He knew everyone and therefore could select only the best for us- accomodation and tea houses. He paced us superbly and ensured that we were fit to proceed at altitude in the best possible manner. We have no hesitation is highly recommending his services; in fact many of our friends have subsequently trekked with him. The visit to his orphanage was the icing on the cake. Happy days Jan & Rick

As a trek leader (sirdar), tour organizer and guide, Dasharatha Rai excels well beyond expectations. Of my nine Himalayan treks, he has led four of them — Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Ri, Goecha La (Sikkim). — arranging tent or teahouse lodging, hiring experienced porters and cooks, reacting quickly to emergencies, booking hotels, and local touring such as rafting or Chitwan, all at fair and reasonable prices. The children’s home he founded (Grace Home) further attests to his kindness and organizational skills.

Our 2017 Annapurna trek was a wonderful experience making forever memories.  The landscape/scenery was as wonderful as expected but DR was wonderful above any expectations we could have had.

Nothing was too much trouble for DR from extra luxuries to sound advice, encouragement, care and support.: carrying and serving ground coffee and fruit for us before breakfast and in the afternoon made us celebrates in the tea houses and most importantly when I was suffering in the higher thin air he set a toe to heel slow gait which got us all there. DR’s knowledge and experience of mountain trekking and Nepal is second to none.
