Admirably a proportion of his fee’s go towards running an orphanage, providing a loving home and education for many orphans over the years.

WONDERFUL
As a trek leader (sirdar), tour organizer and guide, Dasharatha Rai excels well beyond expectations. Of my nine Himalayan treks, he has led four of them — Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Ri, Goecha La (Sikkim). — arranging tent or teahouse lodging, hiring experienced porters and cooks, reacting quickly to emergencies, booking hotels, and local touring such as rafting or Chitwan, all at fair and reasonable prices. The children’s home he founded (Grace Home) further attests to his kindness and organizational skills.
Our 2017 Annapurna trek was a wonderful experience making forever memories. The landscape/scenery was as wonderful as expected but DR was wonderful above any expectations we could have had.
Nothing was too much trouble for DR from extra luxuries to sound advice, encouragement, care and support.: carrying and serving ground coffee and fruit for us before breakfast and in the afternoon made us celebrates in the tea houses and most importantly when I was suffering in the higher thin air he set a toe to heel slow gait which got us all there. DR’s knowledge and experience of mountain trekking and Nepal is second to none.
